10 Years of Real Support: Mitch's Story
When Mitch first started with Dynamic Ability Support, the focus was simple. Building routines, growing confidence, and getting comfortable in the community.
Support sessions often looked like long walks through local parks, visits to nearby shops, and small everyday interactions. These moments may have seemed ordinary, but they laid the foundation for something much bigger.
Over time, Mitch's confidence grew and so did his sense of ownership over his own life.
What started as structured support gradually became more flexible and led by Mitch himself. His weeks began to fill with the things he loves: heading out to music tribute nights, going to the footy, and spending time with the people around him.
Along the way, he's built real friendships, developed independence at home, and taken on new challenges around the house: cooking, cleaning and yard work.
There's also a lot of laughter. Mitch brings energy and warmth to every room he's in. Today he's living a life that's active, social, and very much his own.
His story is a reminder that real support doesn't have to be complicated. It starts with showing up, building trust, and giving people the space to grow in their own way.
When we asked Mitch about all the skills he's built and is still building, he answered "I can try and learn it." Which speaks for itself.
As part of our 10 year milestone, we're sharing 10 Stories for 10 Years, celebrating the people and moments that have shaped the Dynamic Ability Support community. Mitch's is one of them.
